Jeanne (Julie Delpy) and Guy (Justin Theroux) seek a fresh start and a quieter place to raise their two young daughters, Molly and Lucy. After moving into their quaint New England cottage, they discover that their new house comes with a history. Based on the true story of Lucy Keyes, a four-year-old girl who disappeared in 1755. Haunted by spirits, the Cooleys must stop history from repeating itself and solve a centuries old mystery in order to save their own daughter.

Bay Area Premiere

written by Andrew Bujalski
starring Justin Rice, Rachel Clift, Andrew Bujalski, Seung-Min Lee
With a nod to Linklater and Warhol, sophomore helmer

Andrew Bujalski’s (Funny Ha Ha) second feature is a lo-fi, black and white, comically laid back film that feels charmingly realistic. Alan, a young singer/songwriter, is looking for something. He’s a slacker on a mission. Maybe it’s to be in the "Cool Inclusive People’s Club," maybe it’s to sleep with his best friend’s girlfriend or maybe it’s just to find a drummer for his upcoming show.

Andrew Bujalski made his feature film directorial debut with Funny Ha Ha. He subscribes to the philosophy set forth by director Mike Leigh that the world that filmmakers and actors create together should "go around corners," that is, that you can understand that the characters have vibrant, real, complex lives before the movie begins, after it ends, and while they’re off screen.

U.S. 2005 87 min.
directed by Brad Kimmel
produced by Brad Kimmel
starring Tim Acres, Sherry Cothran, Jaimee Paul, Jordan Shipman

An obscure footnote in musical history, NOVEM is a little-known college band from the early 70’s whose career was cut short by a tragic accident. This film tells the story of an epic six-day recording session in May 1973 which produced a mini-masterpiece of an album: nine introspective songs that preserved their mood, hopes and fears for generations. In the wake of their deaths, the music they recorded disappeared and remained silent for over thirty years, until it was purchased by a college student at a garage sale who discovered the recording masters as well as film of the sessions.
