The Barrel Room Theatre, located at the historic Sebastiani Winery (founded in 1904) is the venue that most precisely articulates Cinema Epicuria, our unique varietal of film, food and wine.

The Barrel Room has a variety of excellent independent films, great projection, awesome sound, comfortable chairs, and tasty nibbles paired with fine Sonoma wines all within walking distance of the Sonoma Plaza. The history of Sebastiani Vineyards dates back to 1825. In that year, the Franciscan fathers of nearby mission San Francisco Solano, assisted by local Native Americans, first cleared and planted land for their vineyards. These vineyards are among the oldest in northern California. They were acquired in 1904 by Samuele Sebastiani, the founder of the family winery who immigrated from the wine producing region of Tuscany, Italy in 1895.

The original winery was a series of stone buildings erected around the turn of the 20th Century. Those buildings, which are all still standing and in use as part of the winery, have recently undergone a careful, historic restoration. As part of the county-mandated seismic retrofit, all of the priceless items and heirlooms including the famous carved casks were meticulously preserved. In addition, the beautiful, century-old stone walls, covered for many years, have again been exposed.

As a theater, The Barrel Room is an unforgettable experience, with three shorts programs and exciting features. Please visit, enjoy a glass of wine and savor a filmic experience utterly unique to The Sonoma Valley Film Festival.
