West Coast Premiere
U.S. 2005 60 min.
directed by Wayne Ewing
produced by Wayne Ewing
starring Hunter S. Thompson

Following a process laid out in explicit detail by the late Hunter S. Thompson, a creative team set out to construct a massive double-thumbed Gonzo Monument in remote Woody Creek, Colorado, from which to shoot and scatter his ashes. Just as the Maysles Brothers procedural films chronicled avant-garde installation artist Christo’s, When I Die tracks the construction of the monument, culminating with its dramatic unveiling and fireworks display.

produced by Linda Goldstein Knowlton & Linda Hawkins Costigan

When Sesame Street crosses borders, rather than simply repackage the show and export the familiar characters we all know and love, the producers and educators at the Sesame Street Workshop work with production teams in the host countries to develop unique programs that are culturally specific. The World According to Sesame Street explores the drama and complexities behind producing international versions of the world’s most-watched children’s television program.
