The
middle
school
workshops
for
the
006
Sonoma
Youth
Works
program
were
produced
by
Kimberly
Hughes,
a
member
of
the
Board
of
Directors
of
the
Sonoma
Valley
Film
Society,
in
collaboration
with
the
Charles
Schulz
Museum.
Bay
Area
filmmaker
instructors
Joanne
Parsont,
Timothy
Taylor
and
Michele
Sieglitz
led
two
-day
workshops,
one
in
Sonoma
at
Sonoma
Valley
High
School
and
one
in
Santa
Rosa
on-site
at
the
Schulz
Museum,
with
a
dozen
middle
school
students
participating
in
each
program.
Each
group
produced
a
short
film
about
the
legendary
Peanuts
comic
strip
and
its
cast
of
characters,
using
various
narrative
and
documentary
elements
and
techniques,
and
learning
how
to
script,
storyboard,
shoot,
edit
and
even
use
a
green
screen.
In
the
studio,
they
worked
with
original
Peanuts
footage
and
sound
tracks
alongside
their
own
video
work.
At
the
end
of
the
workshops,
the
students
and
their
parents
enjoyed
seeing
the
rough
cuts,
which
will
be
polished
and
shown
along
with
a
"making
of
video"
at
the
Student
Works
Program
during
the
Film
Festival. |
